Mass. Eye and Ear is a specialty academic medical center providing outstanding patient care for disorders of the eye, year, nose, throat, head, and neck. Founded in 1824, MEEI is an international leader in Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology research and is a teaching and research affiliate of Harvard Medical School. The Ophthalmology department offers the complete range of primary and tertiary clinical services, conducts advanced translational and applied research, including clinical research, and trains 56 eye care specialists each year. Our clinical faculty provide care for almost 160,000 patient visits per year, and we operate the region's only 24/7 emergency center for ophthalmic trauma and urgent care.
