The project is multidisciplinary and involves the study of polymicrobial biofilms using advanced biofilm imaging and image analysis techniques, as well as mathematical modeling of factors controlling biofilm growth using agent-based simulations. The post-doc will be trained to work with experimental polymicrobial systems/models in the laboratory of Dr Dongari-Bagtzoglou and will work closely with a modeling post-doc from the Quantitative Medicine Center to apply experimental data in mathematical model calibration and validation. The post-doc will be mentored in grant writing.

Requirements: PhD in Microbiology with experience in basic microbiology-related cell and molecular biology assays. Alternatively, PhD in Environmental Engineering or Biomedical Engineering with a background/interest in Microbiology and biofilm control methods.

Positon available immediately and open until filled.
